About Your FUTURE
The Pontiac Promise Zone

Making dreams come true for the youth of the Pontiac School District who may not have the resources for a Michigan college education.
The Pontiac Promise Zone can make your dreams come true if you desire to obtain a two or four-year degree, certification, or skilled trade school of your choosing in Michigan.

Schools that qualify for the Pontiac Promise Zone include:

  • Arts & Technology Academy of Pontiac (ATAP)
  • Auburn Hills Christian
  • Pontiac High School
  • Learn4Life
  • Baldwin Christian School
  • International Technology Academy (ITA)
  • Notre Dame Preparatory School
  • Oakland Christian
  • Pontiac Academy of Excellence (PAE)
  • Heritage Christian
  • Received a GED from the Pontiac School District

Currently, up to $8,750.00 per semester is available for Pontiac residents who graduate from a qualifying high school within the Pontiac School District.

If scholars attended and lived within the Pontiac School District, funds are disbursed as follows:

  • Grades 9-12 receive 100% of funding–$17,500.00 annually
  • Grades 10-12 receive 100% of funding–$17,500.00 annually
  • Grades 11-12 receive 75% funding–$13,125.00 annually
  • 12th Grade only and Pontiac GED completion receive 50% of funding–$8,750.00 annually
  • Current Adult high school diploma recipients within the current graduating year receives 100% of funding–$17,500.00 annually

Scholars are eligible for up to $500.00 per semester, not to exceed $1,000.00 for book/supply reimbursements annually.

Scholars are also eligible for a ONE-TIME $400.00 computer reimbursement

Yes! Funding can be applied towards room and board, and the full cost of attendance; however, scholarship funds are applied towards tuition payments first.
